Last updated July 1 2010According to the experts, the 2010 hurricane season has the potential to be one of the most active in recent history. In fact on their website, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) claims the 2010 hurricane season could be “active to extremely active.”
NOAA is predicting well above average storms this season. Compared to an average 11 named storms, NOAA expects 14 to 23 named ones in 2010.
Of those, NOAA says 8 to 14 will become hurricanes. The average to become hurricanes is 6 a year. On top of that, 3 to 7 of those will develop into major hurricanes (category 3 or more) compared to an average of only 2.You need to be prepared. And having adequate emergency fuel on hand is important.
